We are pleased to announce one of the most important international meetings of the year, the Agri-Food Summit – Global.es Food Systems, organised by the INCYDE Foundation of the Chambers of Commerce, the Triptolemos Foundation and the Mediterranean Diet Foundation, which last year awarded us one of its prestigious prizes.
The meeting is held at the Palacio de Congresos de Montjuïc (Barcelona) and we have the honour of participating in it, together with relevant national and international experts in a series of round tables where the most important issues related to sustainability will be discussed.
All the round tables and topics discussed are more than relevant for all companies, globally, but for us as a meat company, first of all, we have focused on commenting on the areas that most concern us and most directly affect us, such as our work to reduce food waste, which in Spain is a serious problem that normally passes more into the background.
The theme of our table was related to whether food can be obtained in an affordable, profitable and sustainable way, and we discussed our way of working, which goes hand in hand with innovation in production systems, to achieve this goal.
We also took the opportunity to raise awareness in the country by talking about our sustainability initiatives, such as our reduction in the consumption of plastics and natural resources, the implementation of solar panels in our largest plants, the use of 100% green energy, the reduction of our emissions…
